Become versed in the content that you’ll be teaching your students. Students majoring in elementary education must become versed in either English, social studies, math, or science. Students majoring in secondary education must become versed in the content associated with their area of licensure: English, social studies, life sciences, theatre, or physical education.

See how their needs are met and become versed in the laws and policies that support the education of all students. We believe you must be prepared to educate all children regardless of their talents or challenges.

Engaging in practical experiences. Every semester, you’ll have the opportunity to work with our partner schools in various capacities. Some of these experiences you’ll complete with classmates; others you’ll complete independently. We continuously maintain our partnerships while also cultivating new opportunities. This allows Education faculty to stay connected to the changing realities of education as a social structure. Immerse yourself in teaching and learning in the final two independent placements before your final full-time student teaching experience.
